School admissions

Sir, – The new school admissions Bill 2015 must have a Sir Humphrey-type somewhere in the Department of Education rubbing his hands with glee. Imagine introducing legislation that says discrimination based on religion, or lack of religion, is not allowed and then going on to say that obvious religious-based discrimination, to protect the ethos of the school, isn’t discrimination because the Bill says it isn’t discrimination. – Yours, etc,

GAVIN TOBIN,
