Madam, – David Landy, writing in defence of his old school, Gormanston College (April 23rd), states inter alia that it is a private institution and that the “Government and its henchmen should get their busybody, do gooder nose out of the school’s business”.
It is surprising that after the revelations in the Ryan report that anyone interested in the welfare of our young people should have this attitude. It is especially surprising when one considers that this private school receives over €2 million a year of taxpayers’ money in the form of teachers’ salaries. – Yours, etc,
