A chara, - Following the ongoing discussion in your letters page surrounding the Seán Russell monument and the source of likely funding for its restoration, the National Graves Association states categorically that it is not in receipt of any Government public funds or grants of any kind, nor has it ever applied for such funding.
The association is not affiliated to any political party, group or organisation; committee members are not permitted to be members of any political parties. The committee give their services in a voluntary capacity. Associate membership fees and voluntary contributions from nationally minded people at home and abroad support the association.
The Russell family fully support the National Graves Association in its efforts to restore this national monument. - Is mise,
