Sir, – As a graduate of both the National University of Ireland and the University of Dublin (Trinity College), I am entitled to two votes in the current elections to the Seanad.
Other citizens who have not been so fortunate have no vote at all.
They are, in effect, disenfranchised from any participation in the choice of representatives to the Upper House of the Oireachtas.
Such exclusion is undemocratic and unacceptable. Despite the attractions of many of the candidates who have been sending me their glossy and informative canvassing materials, I will not be voting for any of them. – Yours, etc,
