Sir, - The violence and intimidation by paramilitaries in the North makes and all normal people feel sick. The major underlying cause is Christian disunity, leading to the tribalism of our society. We are approaching the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Will our Christian leaders please call for a national day of prayer for our island, that we may be healed of our divisions?
Only God can heal us.
The least we can do is pray, together, all over the land for God to do so in His way, as He wills. This requires will and wisdom and humility on our part - the wisdom of Solomon, in other words, to whom God promised 3000 years ago: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
