Madam, – Vincent Browne’s article (Opinion, April 6th) demands a response. It is patently obvious that the boards of the banks signally failed in their responsibility and no one, corporately or individually, has come forward with an explanation or, even more significantly, with an apology.
Equally there is a stony silence from the ranks of the auditors who signed off the accounts and other so-called professional advisers who collected hefty fees for endorsing the collective recklessness. – Yours, etc,
