Madam, - Enda Kenny really is grasping at straws with his ridiculous assertion that the next election will be a choice between a Fianna Fail-Sinn Féin government (explicitly ruled out by the Taoiseach) and a Fine Gael-Labour one (increasingly being ruled out by the electorate).
Not only is a FF-PD coalition possible and indeed likely, but Mr Kenny's own putative partners in the Green Party and the Labour Party have both been making eyes at Bertie Ahern in recent weeks and when the votes are counted all bets will be off.
Instead of dictating what other party or combination of parties' people should vote for, Mr Kenny might want to get his own house in order and give people a good reason to vote for Fine Gael. Just being "not Fianna Fáil" is not going to be enough. - Is mise,
Cllr JOHN BRASSIL (FF), Ballyheigue, Co Kerry.
