Sleepwalking into the next crisis

Sir, – The abject failure of the political institutions of our State seriously to address institutional reform in the wake of our shameful loss of sovereignty suggests that this State is sleepwalking its way into its next crisis, which will in all likelihood occur after we have left the bailout and our political elite are allowed unfettered to return to their old habits of caving in to lobbies and pursuing short-term political goals at the expense of long-term national development.

Perhaps we should ask members of the troika to stick with us and continue running the country for the foreseeable future! – Yours, etc,
