Sir, – Róisín Ingle's lament for the demise of the slow set (Magazine, April 18th) brought back memories of the Olympic Ballroom in Dublin around 1960. Who remembers the bouncers whose job was to discourage "lurching" and who would tap dancers on the shoulders to say "No close dancing"? Yes, okay, so it was the last century! – Yours, etc,
TONY CORCORAN,
Rathfarnham,
Dublin 14.
