Sir, - Shortly after I moved to this country in 1992, my first letter was published in The Irish Times. When I discussed it with my Irish friend, the late Denis O'Connell of Kinsale, he told me that your Letters page was considered Ireland's version of London's Hyde Park Speakers' Corner. I'm surprised that Arthur Reynolds (An Irishman's Diary, September 3rd) didn't know that. - Yours, etc.,
