Sir, - Patrick Honohan (September 12th) suggests that the Government's SSIA scheme is "a temporary measure to meet a transitory need", and he argues that the scheme should be cancelled immediately.
He fails to mention or consider the wishes of those who have invested in the scheme, and for whom the scheme is not a "temporary measure" but an important medium-term investment of hard-earned money.
