Sir, - Catherine Forde (September 14th) asks that consideration be given to those who joined the SSIA Scheme. (I find the use of the word "invest" somehow inappropriate.)
Would it not be more to the point for the Minister to consider the views of those who are footing the bill along with those who are facing the suffering that will be caused as a result of the forced cuts in the vital health and welfare areas which could clearly be avoided by the Minister abandoning this scheme?
Ms Forde's wish that the Government be "more considerate" is strange indeed in the context of this scheme. The only considering that should be going on is the Minister considering his position. - Yours, etc,
