Madam, - In her otherwise excellent article on St Brigid's Day (Weekend Review, January 27th), Catherine Foley omitted to mention the beautiful Irish poem which celebrates the first day of spring:
Anois teacht an Earraigh
Beidh an lá dul chun shíneadh
Is tar éis na Féil' Bríde

(Now with the coming of spring
The days will be stretching out
And after the Feast of Brigid
