Sir, - The "home" of English soccer remains vacant and untouched because the British Government claims it cannot afford to make even a contribution to the FA's cost of £600 million to rebuild it.

Meanwhile back at Bertie's Bowl, a contribution of up to £120 million has been promised to the FAI, up to £130 million to the GAA and £1 billion to the planners and contractors.
