Sir, - David Nowlan's positive review of Donal O'Kelly's one man show Catalpa (March 21st) praises it as a consummate piece of theatre, "even if the original conceit was to deliver a film script".
For my money (albeit the low price preview), O'Kelly's triumph lies precisely in that conceit. By using imagination, language, and movement brilliantly to act out a "film script", Catalpa demonstrates that the magic of the stage can still trump the magic of the screen, special effects and all. - Yours, etc.,
