Sir, – I sympathise with Ivy Bannister (March 19th) in her difficulty in purchasing 20 cent stamps in a Post Office

Sir, – I sympathise with Ivy Bannister (March 19th) in her difficulty in purchasing 20 cent stamps in a Post Office. But help is not far away – she should take her courage in her hands, cross the Dodder, cross the Liffey, yes, even cross the Tolka and eventually knock on the door of Clontarf Road Post Office beside St Anthony’s Church.

There the genial postmaster John deals with unfailing efficiency, patience and courtesy with all customers aged five to 95 and beyond, as he and his family have done for many years. Your philatelic desires will – if humanly possible – be fulfilled without demur, no matter how complicated. Well worth the voyage North. – Yours, etc,

MARTIN CLYNES,

Kincora Grove,

Clontarf,
