Sir, - I am a 12-year-old and a first-year student at Palmerstown Community School. For well over five years my school has been promised a new sports hall, in fact planning permission has been granted and work was supposed to commence last October.
At present we do PE in a cafeteria or on a broken-down outdoor basketball court full of glass. We have recently been told that we will not be receiving a sports hall at all. I think this is a disgrace considering the Minister for Finance said that sport is "so important" in this country.
He went on to say that tax concessions will be given to retiring professional sports people. If this is so, where's our sports hall? We won't mention Bertie's Bowl. - Yours, etc.,
