Sir, - I would wholeheartedly agree with Finola Bruton's comments about stay-at-home mothers ( Irish Times, Dec 14th). After the last two budgets, there is now insidious and reinforced discrimination against our families.
We are making many sacrifices to stay at home and rear our children. Rather than being supported, be are being penalised financially. Choice is not being respected. We are indeed, being forced out of existence and "treated like pariahs".
Whither Irish society? Are we to disregard our tradition of caring, tolerance and Christianity -and our Constitution which enshrines the protection of the family? - Yours etc.,
