MARY QUINLAN,
Madam, - In response to Fintan O'Toole's column of October 22nd, it was parents who objected to the Stay Safe programmes, and I was one. I did not want my beautiful, innocent little children, at even four years old being subjected to references to "that part of their body covered by their bikini" by any adult, anywhere at any time, and certainly not by teachers.
That is from Lesson One for infants' class and it gets worse and worse as the child gets older. Hands off our children! Give these programmes to parents. Teach us what you think our children should know and trust us to protect them. - Yours, etc.,
MARY QUINLAN, Lugatober, Glencar, Co Sligo.
