Sir, – Having decided to go for a hotel break, the first since the pandemic closures, I, as a creature of habit, looked at a four-star hotel in the west of Ireland where we stayed in December 2017.
The rate for bed and breakfast for two people was €128, whereas in December 2021 the rate is €264.
My salary has not increased at this level and therefore I will not take this trip. Holidaying in Ireland is becoming less and less attractive. – Yours, etc,
