Madam, - It has been two weeks since the fourth threatened closure of Dublin Airport - an essential national service - and as yet there has been absolutely no action by Aer Rianta to ensure our airports remain open when faced with any more strike action.

The airport monopoly has not indicated any progress in training Dublin Fire Brigade or the Army to ensure sufficient fire cover is provided to keep the runways open at our national gateway.

How many more weeks have to pass or strike threats have to be issued before the Aer Rianta monopoly wake up and actually do something for Irish consumers and visitors and put in place a contingency plan to keep Dublin Airport open? - Yours, etc.,

PAUL FITZSIMONS, Head of Communications, Ryanair, Dublin Airport.
