Madam, - May I congratulate you on your excellent Music in the Classroom series? However, I think your edition on brass concentrated too much on classical music and didn't highlight the virtues of instruments such as the cornet (not "coronet", as spelt twice on page 8), E-flat horn and euphonium.
I conduct our excellent local CBS Band and find cornets provide a sweeter sound than trumpets and blend better with each other as well as with reeds and flutes.
And, from my own long experience, once someone has mastered the cornet it is easy to transfer to the trumpet, though the reverse is not the case. - Yours, etc,
