SWITCHING TO THE EURO

PAUL DELANEY,

PAUL DELANEY,

Sir, - I am impressed by the dire warnings being issued by various State bodies on the fate that awaits any individual or business which attempts to make use of the euro changeover to increase prices. Mr Tom Kitt is particularly stern on the subject.

Maybe he could nip over to Dublin Castle, where the admission charge to the State Apartments has been rounded up from £3 to €4 (£3.15). - Yours, etc.,

Sir, - So, the powers that be insist that we must at all times refer to the euro in the singular.

And there was I thinking that one of the main tenets underpinning the European ideal was the promotion and advancement of pluralism. - Yours, etc.,

Sir, - Being over 50, I think I need to see a eurologist urgently. Is there a waiting list? - Yours, etc.,
