But maybe there is one page that we should take out of that country’s particular debt book.Here’s the Icelandic president, Olafur Grimsson, on the recently rejected referendum in that country: “How can you ask the taxpayers, ordinary people who have nothing to do with the banking sector, to shoulder the debt and the failure of the banking system, without asking those people directly, ‘to what extent are you willing to do it?’.” – Yours, etc,
