Madam, - So the mayor of Ballina felt the pharmacist's poster of Ms Sophie Dahl was offensive to women. It would appear that the offence is due to the provocative nature of her pose and the fact she appears to be wearing nothing except high heels and, presumably, the perfume advertised.
Talk about priorities in this country being out of whack. I would have thought the name of the perfume, Opium, is far more offensive. A naked body, which we all possess, is not on, but glamorising the raw material for heroin goes unnoticed. - Yours, etc.,
