Sir, – I’m appalled and outraged at the fiasco surrounding the traffic “arrangements” for the tall ships. Closing off roads and streets at the height of the rush hour on Thursday morning is simply not acceptable.
It took 40 minutes just to get from the North Strand Fire Station to Connolly Station and that was in the bus! How much longer would it have taken for those stuck in their cars? How many people were late for work yesterday morning? And how many deliveries – some of vital supplies – were considerably delayed because of someone’s decision to shut off roads and streets at the height of the morning rush hour?
It would not happen nor would it be tolerated in any other country! No doubt whoever made the decision will escape any accountability or punishment for their actions – as always. – Is mise,
