JOHN J. KELLY,
Sir, - I wish to express my total abhorrence of the recent comments on asylum-seekers by the Fianna Fáil TD for Cork North Central. I hope the voters of Cork North Central also show their abhorrence next May.
More importantly, the failure of his party to take action against him and its continuing to endorse him as a candidate can only lead one to the conclusion that, despite public utterances to the contrary, it agrees with his sentiments. - Yours, etc.,
JOHN J. KELLY, Belgrave Square, Dublin 6.
... ... * ... * ... * ... ...
Sir, - Noel O'Flynn's description of asylum-seekers as "spongers" and "freeloaders" indicates how desperate he is to use any tactic, no matter how repulsive and dangerous, to win support in the forthcoming general election. He now expects "action to be taken". Just what is he referring to?
The only appropriate action would be for the voters of Cork North-Central to ensure he fails to benefit from these objectionable views by voting for other candidates. - Yours, etc.,
ROGER LEONARD, Killiney, Co Dublin.
