Sir, - Our 100,000 secondary school students are facing many days' idleness because the voluntary care of their health and safety is being spasmodically withdrawn by their 16,000 teachers.
One parent of each of these students would surely be justified in staying at home on each of these days, to ensure their child's wellbeing - the resultant disruption in the work and voluntary sectors being guaranteed to generate a speedy and successful outcome. - Yours, etc.,
Anne Cahill, Laurel Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
