Sir, - As a secondary teacher, I find it incredible that 1,200 taxi-drivers can, through force, prevail upon a Minister to sit down and talk about their difficulties, while 17,000 secondary teachers, who are engaged in a peaceful, legal and civilised dispute are unable to gain access to a Minister and furthermore are threatened with draconian paycuts within four days of Christmas. Perhaps this says something about the democratic process in this Celtic Tiger economy. - Yours, etc.,
Anne Hillan, Malahide, Co Dublin.
