Sir, - I read on the front page of your edition of March 14th that the Taoiseach hopes to "go after the youth vote" by opening the prospect of a second U2 concert at Slane.
Might I suggest that a more productive means for Mr Ahern to go after the youth vote would be to engage himself personally in resolving the ASTI dispute? This would be a much more effective commitment and response to the concerns of the young people of Ireland.
It seems once again that the Taoiseach has abandoned constructive political leadership for cheap, populist reactionary politics. - Yours, etc.,
