Sir, – Future discussion of the 25 places TCD intends to fill by a new admission process should also include discussion of the 25 high point applicants excluded by this innovation (Home News, January 14th).
If writing an imaginative piece is part of the new admission process why is this not part of the Leaving Certificate assessment? Already available in this State is a successful “personal statement” writing service for Irish applicants to British universities who use such statements as part of admission.
