Madam, – I am shocked at the treatment of the thalidomide victims by the Government (“Government offers €2m to 32 thalidomide victims”, Home News, April 28th).
The victims are a small group, just 32 people surviving. Surely they have endured enough in their lifetime and surely we can do better for them? We could start by diverting at least some of the money made available by the forgone ministerial pensions. – Yours, etc,
