Madam, - Graham Henry, the All Blacks coach, has asked for a line to be drawn under the "incident" of the spear tackle on Brian O'Driscoll.

However, at no stage has he or any of the All Blacks publicly admitted that what was done, whether maliciously or not, was not only illegal but recklessly dangerous.

They have never offered any public apology to Brian O' Driscoll, the Lions or the rugby-supporting public.

They do a grave disservice to the name of a great rugby nation and to the game of rugby.

Madam, - I note in the New Zealand press that the All Blacks captain, Tana Umaga, has been banned from the pubs in Dublin owned by one Mr C. Chawke.

I imagine the considerable number of supporters of the team will bear this in mind in considering their refreshment options. - Yours, etc,

DAVID PYNE, Monkstown, Co Dublin.
