Madam, - Despite an acquired aversion to the xenophobic ranting of Áine Ní Chonaill and her Immigration Control Platform, I determined that I would read her article in your edition of August 10th in full. Having done so, I concluded that it was a waste of space, although I respect The Irish Times's editorial policy of including all shades of opinion.
The possibility that immigration may of itself be a positive force is, of course, anathema to the Immigration Control Platform, but the reality is that we are all of us the descendents of immigrants. Ireland has no aboriginal population. - Yours etc.,
