Madam, - It was wonderful to read the welcome letter (March 7th) from the Ambassador of France on the centenary celebrations in honour of Samuel Beckett.
May I quibble with one point? The ambassador mentions the role of Beckett in the French Resistance. He seems to differentiate between the "intellectual" and the "man of courage" who "stood facing danger". Moral courage counts too. Witness the indomitable Noam Chomsky. - Yours, etc,
