Madam, - While Margaret O'Brien plays "hunt the woman" on the Letters page (September 30th), I've been playing on the obituary and science pages.
For the July-September period, the score is seven women out of 60 obituaries (12 per cent), but a slightly healthier eight out of 40 (20 per cent) on the science pages. This despite the fact that science is still predominantly male, and that we women die just as often as men.
At least, by publishing Ms O'Brien's letter and this one, you may be helping to right the balance in a small way. - Yours, etc,
