Sir, – Nigel Dodds is wrong to assert that the Taoiseach is being disrespectful when he points out how the UK leaving the EU could destabilise Ireland, both north and south ("DUP chastises Kenny over Brexit warning on Northern Ireland", January 27th). In fact, there is nothing more respectful than looking out for our friends. Enda Kenny should be commended for making clear how Brexit would not only be damaging for the Republic but also for Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK as well.
The thousands of Irish people who live in Britain should remember that they will have a vote in this important referendum, and they have a right and duty to be heard on this matter. – Yours, etc,
