Sir, - A significant error due to the unfortunate misprinting of the word "insulating" as "insulting appeared in my letter on the Education Bill (April 4th).
The sentence should have read "The Churches have been gifted full powers to hire and fire staff in their schools and hospitals on the basis of insulating the ethos of these institutions, thanks to a controversial exemption in the Employment Equality Bill".
Our group does not support teachers insulting the ethos of their schools. Real pluralist choice for parents, teachers' civil rights and religious tolerance are the issues in this area and respecting, not insulting, each other is the way forward. - Yours, etc.
