Sir, - Some time ago I applied for Eircom's high-speed service. The man at the local Eircom office took my details and said someone would be in contact with me shortly. That was almost two months ago - and not a dickie-bird since! Last Monday Eircom cut me off for non-payment of my bill. The bill had already been paid since the previous Thursday. Today I dialled Eircom's Directory Enquiry numbers. I tried 11811; engaged; I tried it again several times; still engaged. I tried 11818; engaged. I tried it several times again; still engaged. I then tried 1197 several times; engaged. I tried 1190; engaged.

And I live in the "Information Age Town"! - Yours, etc.,
