A chara, – Tim O'SulIivan says that the EU "ignores the clearly expressed wishes of the Irish public" on water charges (June 29th). I am not sure on what basis he claims to know the opinion of the Irish people on this issue.
As far as I know the Irish people have not been explicitly asked their opinion. In fact, the closest measure to gauge it would be that over 60 per cent paid their bills, a majority. – Is mise,
