Sir, - A few days ago, in the historic city of York, a bronze tactile model designed to assist those with visual impairment was unveiled in front of the great west door of York Minster. This model, innovative in concept, is believed to be the only one of its type in England and offers those with visual impairment a chance to appreciate and learn something about the various historic buildings and their perspectives in this Viking city.

Encouragement and support came from the Rotary Clubs of York and York Conservation Trust and will we hope offer to many an opportunity to enjoy and explore. What we feel is what we see.

As far as we are aware, there is nothing similar here. Do you think this might be an idea for our Viking city of Dublin?

After all, those with visual impairment have just as much right as we who are blessed with full sight to see and appreciate the historic buildings which go to make up the character of this historic city. - Yours, etc.,
