Sir, - If one opposes a Fianna Fail policy or Bill, the term "intransigent" is brought into action. This battle-hardened word was used on RTE on May 2nd by the Minister for Justice, Mr John O'Donoghue, to describe the stand taken by the Opposition parties to his plans to bring judges to heel.

The swift tactic with which FF wanted the Bill pushed through the Dail was sufficient to arouse suspicions.

A more appropriate use of the word would be for the unyielding policies of the Minister towards refugees. - Yours, etc.,
