Sir, – I hope you will permit one of the taller citizens of this country to leave aside the merits of the referendum for one moment and draw attention to the complete negligence and utter carelessness that has marked the postering in this campaign.
On Sunday week, I began counting the number of posters which, at only a few inches over 6 foot, would strike me if I walked too close. I stopped bothering on Wednesday when I hit 50.
I would hope that in future it is ensured that the relevant guidelines are actually enforced and transgressors punished, before someone gets hurt.
All it would take (as the last general election taught me) is a loose tie and a windy day to cause a painful bruise. – Yours, etc,
