Sir, - I look forward now every Saturday to reading Maureen Gaffney. Your new magazine is worth buying for her article alone. Everything she writes is packed with wonderful and clear insights into all aspects of modern living. Forget about confused idealists like John Waters - this woman has all the answers. She should be appointed as special adviser to the Government. Her book of a few years ago, The Way We Live Now, is as relevant now as when it was published. It should be compulsory reading for every mature person.

By the way, congratulations also to the magazine on the excellent chronological film guide. This was badly needed - for the times we live in, and of course, the way we live now. - Yours, etc.,

Tom Tinsley, River Court, Newbridge, Co Kildare.
