Madam, - Given the education provided to Frank McNally at such enormous expense, I am surprised to find that his spelling is guided by pronunciation, whether that which he heard as he grew up in Monaghan or more recently from the lips of a long-serving Taoiseach.
His Irishman's Diaryof June 21st puts the Irish on the couch for the next several months "while a multinational army of psychologists tries to find out what makes us tick".
Is it not your editorial duty to point out to him that there is an "h" in that last word, right after the "t"? - Yours, etc,
