Sir, - According to Geraldine Mitchell (July 29th) Reuter's report is "dubious" when it reports from Serbian sources, but is, presumably, the gospel truth when it reports from the Albanian ones. How inconvenient for her that Western politicians and media are finally beginning to realise that the KLA is not a bunch of poor Albanians fighting for human rights in Kosovo but an armed terrorist band bent on the secession of Kosovo and the creation of "Greater Albania", whose arms supplies are funded through drug trafficking and the imposition of a tax on their emigrants in the West (three per cent on earnings and a once-off payment of £400).
I make no apology for promoting legitimate Serbian interests, and would point out to Ms Mitchell that I have consistently stated that the Kosovo problems can be solved, long-term, only through political negotiations. The pro-Albanian lobby, on the other hand, advocates a military solution, namely: the bombing of Serbia by NATO, to be followed, no doubt, by the SFOR Mark II occupation of Kosovo. Then, we shall be informed of new manhunts for "suspected Serb war criminals", who will be beaten to a pulp, or preferably shot while "resisting arrest" by the SAS "professionals", as has happened in the Republic of Serbia over the last year or so. - Yours, etc., Zivko Jaksic,
