Sir, - After much hard work by Ms Lelia Doolan, on Saturday afternoon (May 23rd) in the Town Hall theatre in Galway, a very pleasant few hours were spent by good friends of my late husband Noel in celebration of his life and work.I would be most obliged if, through your newspaper, I might offer my most sincere thanks to all who took part: the audience, many of whom came from great distances; the kind people who spoke from the platform with beautiful thoughts and memories of Noel with most pleasant interludes of carefully chosen and apt poetry readings; and the talented musicians and singers. My family and I were deeply touched.For Lelia Doolan who, with her usual professional organisational abilities and care, arranged Saturday afternoon's occasion, there are no words of appreciation strong enough which I can offer her. It was a memorable afternoon which we shall not ever forget. Everyone who took part gave of their very best in honour of Noel.
