Madam, – Watching RTÉ’s 9pm news on Monday I was shocked and disappointed that the incredible achievement of Tony McCoy, arguably Ireland’s greatest ever sportsman, in riding his 3,000th winner was not even mentioned. The only sports news covered was the sacking of two managers from the English Premier League.
It is no wonder Irish racing and Irish racecourses are struggling when our national television station fails to highlight the astonishing accomplishement of one of the greatest ever ambassadors for Irish sport, – Yours, etc,
