Sir, – In "NRA not a good model for Irish Water" (March 7th), you report that the National Roads Authority was dissolved last year.
This is incorrect. The National Roads Authority (NRA) has not been dissolved.
The Roads Act 2015 dissolved the Railway Procurement Agency (RPA), the statutory authority formerly tasked with the provision of light railway and metro railway infrastructure.
The RPA was dissolved on August 1st, 2015, and all functions transferred to the NRA, which now operates as Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to reflect its expanded remit following the transfer of the functions of the RPA. – Yours, etc,
