Madam, - Your readers may be interested to know that Ciarán Hinds, whose imperial representation of Julius Caesar is ubiquitous in the media at present, began his dramatic steps to celebrity on the boards of St Malachy's College, Belfast, in the late 1960s performing Shakespeare's "Scottish Play".
Among the other young players in the company schooled by the late Seán Dynan were Judge Desmond Marrinan QC as "A Doctor", Séamus McKee of BBC Radio Ulster as MacDuff, Brian MacAvera, author, curator and playwright, as Seyton, and as witches, Denis Murray, the BBC Ireland Correspondent and Paddy Murphy, a senior NIO press officer.
Gerry Murray was Macbeth and Lady Macbeth was played by Ciarán Hinds. - Yours, etc,
M.E. HARKNESS (Mrs), University Street, Belfast.
